Vaktis is a pet-sitting listings platform built with a four-person team as a graded school project. I was assigned lead backend developer.
My role
Team of four, but the backend work landed almost entirely on me. One teammate handled HTML/CSS for the pages; I wrote the PHP logic behind all of them, fixed and adjusted their markup where needed,
Summary of my work: routing, form handling, session/auth logic, CRUD operations, implementing general PHP logic in the HTML files I was given.
Working in a team
This project made clear how uneven effort and experience can be within a team, and how much that shapes how and what actually gets built. In practice, that meant adjusting expectations around what could realistically be delegated evenly, and taking on more of the backend myself to keep the project moving.
